Welcome to Celix. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains what our "Email Insights" browser extension (the "Service") does and does not do with your data.
Our core privacy promise is simple: **We do not have a server. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data.** All analysis happens locally on your computer.
1. What Information the Service Accesses
To function, the Service requires you to grant it permission to access your Microsoft account. This access is strictly limited and used as follows:
- Microsoft User ID: We access your Microsoft User ID (`User.Read` permission) for the sole purpose of managing your analysis credits (tries) and premium status, which are stored locally on your machine. We do not transmit this ID to any server.
- Email Metadata: We use the `Mail.ReadBasic` permission to read *metadata* from your Inbox and Sent Items. This includes:
- Sender and recipient email addresses
- Email timestamps (date and time)
- Email subjects (used *only* for filtering, e.g., to remove "Out of Office" replies, and then immediately discarded)
- Conversation IDs (to group threads)
- WE DO NOT:
- Read or store the **body content** of any of your emails.
- Read or store your email attachments.
- Store your email subjects.
2. How We Use Your Information
The Service uses the email metadata it accesses for one purpose: to generate statistics *locally on your computer*.
- The Service processes this metadata to calculate metrics like sent counts, received counts, response times, and reply rates for your contacts.
- These calculated statistics (the "Email Stats") are the *only* data saved by the extension.
3. Information Storage and Sharing
Storage
All data processed or generated by the Service is stored in your browser's local storage (`chrome.storage.local`). This data includes:
- Your calculated "Email Stats".
- Your analysis credit count and premium status (tied to your User ID).
- Your settings for the extension.
This data **never leaves your computer**. We (Celix) do not have access to it.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any of your personal data (including your User ID or email stats) with any third parties.
The only data transmissions that occur are:
- Directly between your browser and Microsoft's Graph API to fetch your email metadata. This is a standard part of how Microsoft 365 works.
- If you choose to purchase, you will be directed to a third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe). We do not handle or see your payment information.
4. Your Control and Data Deletion
You have full control over the data stored by this extension. You can go to the extension's "Options" page and click the **"Clear All Stored Data"** button at any time. This will permanently delete all stored "Email Stats," credit information, and settings from your browser.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Use At Your Own Risk
This Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied.
- No Guarantees: We do not guarantee that the Service will be 100% accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free. The analysis of communication patterns (such as "response time" or "ignored" emails) is a best-effort calculation and may not be perfectly accurate due to the complexity of email conversations.
- Use At Your Own Risk: Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The data and statistics provided are for informational purposes only.
- No Liability: You are solely responsible for interpreting the data provided by this tool and for any actions you take or decisions you make based on it. In no event shall Celix be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, or data) resulting from the use of or inability to use the Service.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page. You are advised to review this privacy policy periodically for any changes.
